I'd like to welcome you to the World Wide Web 'Blogosphere!'
If you'll grant me a couple lines, I'd like to toss out a teaser on your behalf.
Folks, I have to share a bit about this very gifted Veteran. Not only can he listen to your story (all subject matters) and then go and create a wonderful poem from it, but he is the most incredible story-teller I've heard in many years. He has the perfect voice that draws you right in to the heart of his stories.
Few can tout that sort of talent.
I would encourage each of you to pick up a copy of "Vietnam in Verse" or treat yourself to that extra special touch and purchase the book on CD straight from the author. Once you've heard him, you are sure to share it with other Veteran friends and colleagues.
Here's the Amazon link for the book: http://www.amazon.com/Vietnam-Verse-Poetry-Beer-Drinkers/dp/0595420702/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1239411720&sr=1-1
Or contact Mike directly for the book on CD. You won't want to miss this opportunity!
I'd like to add to Maria's comments about Mike Mullins. His book, Vietam in Verse -- Poetry for Beer Drinkers, recieved the 2007 Military Writers Society of America Gold Medal for a book of poetry. It's colorful, down to earth, heartbreaking, clever, intelligent, and loving -- just like Mike himself. Mike has a glorious voice that he generously donates to organizations and events set up to benefit veterans. Reading his work is one thing, to hear him read his work is quite another.

I am a graduate of the University of Va., Wise,Va. and Indiana Univ., Kokomo,In.
I have three wonderful grandchildren. I love sports and watching people. I want to do more public speaking and continue to tell stories about veterans--they are the real history of our country. I tell personal history, not the sort of stuff that ever makes a text book. I want to speak for those who cannot and share with their families and the country which often does not understand them or their sacrifice. I am a Vietnam Veteran, serving with D Co.,3rd/7th Infantry, 199th Light Infantry Bde., 3/68-3/69.
Mike,
